Operating all sections of the plant:

• Day to day running of the plant equipment, making sure plant runs efficiently to meet product targets

• Control room operations using Citec and Think & Go programs
• Monitoring and controlling temperatures of acrylic acid, caustic and acrylamide in their respective storage tanks as well as suppling as required by the plant for reactions in the polymerisation process
• Unloading acrylic acid, caustic and calcium nitrate ISO’s as well as acrylamide IBC’s
• Monitoring and controlling reactions in 3.5 ton polymerisation kettles and supplying product through to the following stages of production
• Operating and controlling the crushing, granulating, and drying process by fluidisation
• Monitoring cyclones, milling process through to storage tanks and packaging of final product ready for shipping.

Duties: Area: De-watering Plant

• Operating in the control room using CITEC System, SAP System, thickeners – operating centrifugal pumps, glandsystems, filter presses using the METSO System, balanced stackers, conveyor systems, all areas controlling multiple valve equipment and flushing systems
• Conducting Pre-Start and running checks of areas operating during shift times including all monitoring and fault finding of equipment
• Operating Loaders, Bobcats, Tele-handlers, Forklifts and EWP’s
• I am the Safety Representative for my Crew. Duties include – monthly area safety checks of plant, weekly safety meetings, liaising with the Safety Department and conducting daily safety meetings with the Crew.

• Running and organising of staff, all work gear including blasting equipment, trucks, trailers, high pressure gear, PPE and organising all employee shifts
• On site shift supervising, organising all paperwork including job hazard analysis sheets, timesheets, pre starts, D.N.A

• Washing down, blasting and high pressure cleaning (ultra high pressure blasting 15000 psi units for removal of build up in any bins, head chutes, stackers - fixed and slewing/luffing, reclaimers, Plant – thickeners, concentration storage tanks , filter sheds, screen houses, primary/secondary/tertiary crushers and bins , conveyors, sample stations, train load out tunnels and bins
• Operating of mobile equipment- Bobcats, Forklifts, Tele-handlers, EWP’s, Overhead Cranes, Mono-cranes
• Dogging and Rigging
• Inspection and reporting of rail condition- sleepers, pins and rail
• Rigging and replacing luff cables on stackers, fixing bucket’s wheels on reclaimers - bucket teeth, wear plates, boggie wheels on both reclaimers and stackers
• Fabricating and installing of walkways, hand rails, head chute repairing
• I have operated on or have been involved with practically all aspects of an Iron Ore Plant
