At 17, I started in the aquatic industry as a swimming instructor at WestSwim, and then later I secured a position at Terry Tyzack, working across three centres. Swiftly promoted to Deck Attendant, I coordinated afternoon swimming lessons, showcasing my organisational and leadership skills.
Developing a strong affinity for Scarborough Beach Pool, I greatly appreciated the positive work environment and the unique experience of working by the beach. Over the years, I built meaningful relationships with colleagues, and in 2019, I transitioned into a lifeguarding role. Balancing both lifeguarding and my swim teaching, I continued to grow professionally. Earlier this year, I was entrusted with filling in as Head Lifeguard for three weeks, showcasing my leadership and expertise. Following this, I was recommended for a part-time position as a Facility Hire Officer and have also taken on responsibilities as a Customer Service Officer, further broadening my skills and contributions to the team.
