Summary

My current role as activities coordinator for both of Glenview's facilities - Glenview and Korongee Village requires me to develop innovative ways to engage people of varying abilities, personalities, likes and dislikes.

I create high quality activities to meet the social, emotional and physical need of almost 200 residents. Most of whom are people living with dementia and other cognitive impairments.

This requires me to assess individual needs, desires and behaviours to provide both individual support and group engagement. Strategies are required to ensure all residents needs are met in both of these settings.

I currently manage a team of 8 staff across the two sites and have proudly created a fantastic team culture by providing positive mentoring and coaching for the team.

I have superior communication skills with people living with dementia and their care givers and LOVE making a difference to their quality of life as part of my role.

I look forward to a new role where I can continue to drive positive change in the way dementia care is provided and promote practical and effective strategies to enhance the quality of life of those affected by the disease.
