I have been an employee of Woolworths supermarkets for the last 19 years. I still currently work for Woolworths but I am now seeking a career change. My time at Woolworths has seen me work across multiple departments and take on a variety of different roles. Showing adaptability, willingness to learn new skills and further my own personal development.
More recently my focus has turned to motherhood as I am a mother of two school aged boys. I feel becoming a mother has allowed me to experience life in a whole new way, and allowed me to view many of life's experiences with a different perspective. I have has always been an advocate for mental health and due to the many new challenges of parenthood I began researching how best to support not only my children's mental health and well-being but my own. I myself have ADHD, so this in itself has its own unique challenges but never stops me from challenging myself. I read books some of which include but are not limited to 'The Whole-Brain Child by Daniel J. Siegel, M.D and Tina Payne Bryson, Ph.D.' And 'Aware by Daniel J. Siegel, M.D'. As well consulting Occupational Therapists and psychologists on ways best to approach the problems we were having and how best to implement solutions in our own home. Through the research I gathered I was able to create activities and routines for myself and my children, to enable us to approach each day with more confidence and the ability to quickly work through problems as they arose, allowing our day to flow more smoothly.
All of these skills I believe are transferable to the work environment and enable me troubleshoot on the go and move through my day with confidence.
I would be grateful for and look forward to the opportunity to start a new career and passion.
